figured that more people will be reading my blog ever since i came over to Manchester, thats why I'm blogging more of my daily happenings which I usually do not when I was back in Singapore.

Today was the first day of orientation. It isn't the kind of orientation we have in Singapore, but more like an orientation to be familiar with school admin and important issues. Somehow during the orientation, I felt the excitement of being an international student. I guess for the past years of education, I am so used to being a local student, used to the environment that I'm not and I never could quite understand or put myself in the perspective of the international students. But here I am right now, an international student in a faraway place and also a minority in a huge student population. For the first time, I have the first hand experiences of the feelings that international students go through. More than that, I could also sense the kind of exposure one would have studying overseas. It is indeed exciting and it definitely broadens one's perspective on ideas and cultures around the world. I wondered how nice it would have been if I was indeed studying for my degree overseas but I am just thankful right now that at least I had this opportunity for one semester.

I love this current weather in Manchester. Some would comment that its tad cold but I find it rather refreshing. Enjoy the nice cool weather everywhere you go to. Will miss it when it warms up.
