Had 2 first experiences today. Explored the new shopping mall Orchard Central. Had interesting architectural features and designs. I was impressed by some of these designs located within the mall and careful considerations were made to ensure the different segments of the mall have distinct identities. The mall is still yet uncompleted, with many shops undergoing renovations and finishing touches on the building, so I'm looking forward to visiting the mall again when its fully opened. But until then, i'm satisfied with this sneak preview.

Rode on the Circle line for the first time today when I was on my way back home just now. It provided a much more convenient way of reaching home with more options now. It was exciting simply to experience the new mrt line.

If you're wondering, I'm someone who is interested in anything architectural, so any new buildings and structures would arouse my curiosity and interest and I always love exploring new places, traveling around different places simply to absorb in the sights. This probably explains my excitement over all these new places i've been to today.

I was doing a teacher’s profile as part of the attachment. While doing the response, it expresses much of my true comments and serves as a reminder of why I wanted to teach in the first place. Although I have not started teaching yet, but it was good as there are many distractions even during university days.

My Philosophy as an Educator [Belief, Motivation & Goals]

I always believe every student is unique in their own ways and has their own potential which need to be developed. It is important not to apply the same formula to every student but instead pay individualistic attention to each student as much as possible. I believe that as an educator, I need to be a model of encouragement to spur my students. This will bring positive reinforcement to them. Regardless of the situation, there is a need to always believe in the students and place that hope in their hearts.

My motivation as an educator is the opportunity to impact what I have as an educator to the next generation. It is the joy from not just living of my own life, not to live it for the next generation. Thus the opportunity to contribute to the next generation through the impartation of knowledge and values is what motivates me to become an educator.

Apart from developing the next generation, one of my goals as an educator is to make a difference in the lives of my students. It does not matter the number of students’ lives I have made a difference in, even if it is only one, it is still significant. I believe as an educator, it is not only knowledge that I impact, but life values are equally crucial as well. Thus, one of my goal as an educator is to make the difference to the students’ lives, in terms of both knowledge and values.

May this always be a driving force behind my role as an educator.

really excited when i read about the American Idol win in the newspaper today. This win is not just a singing competition win. With close to 100 million votes cast on the finale night, it represents the opinion and choice of a large number of young Americans and definitely a representative of American society. Voting for an openly declared gay American Idol would signify the acceptance and embrace the society has towards homosexuals and will definitely mark a significant change the society has today.

We are not to underestimate the type of impact and influence America has to the world and the country marks and sets the pace for the rest of this world. If such a society can embrace homosexuals as its idol, the world would see more changes coming along soon.

My purpose is not to discredit homosexuals their place in society but to voice out the change in the acceptance of our modern society towards homosexuals. I'm proud of who America has chosen to be its Idol. Despite being a dark horse, he overcame all discouragements and feedback to put in his best for God and be a great testimony of God's children. It is not impossible but God can use each platform to allow the light to shine to the rest of the world.

May the light continue to shine for all of God's ambassadors in each and every arena of the society!

i still have not changed my blogskin yet! i still do not have the time to do so. For the past week, i have been out everyday from morning to night and i believe this will continue for the entire week next week.

But i thank God for all that have happened this week. The time spent with different friends. Once again, i need to plan my time well and use it wisely. All the more so when i don't have all the time for myself to plan.

Hope to get the recharge and rest tonight.

a few days since exams ended and i've been mostly out of the home. But i thank God that i managed to spend some quality time with different groups of pple although there's still some friends whom i wish to meet up too as well.

Praying that God will give me the wisdom to plan my time well and to use it wisely. Deciding to be involved in RAG and SCAMP means that most of my holidays will be spent on those but yet i'm a person who tends to be very much preoccupied with many things as well, wanting to do a lot more.

There's this idea of a personal project that came into my mind a few days ago which i eagerly hope to embark on. I want to explore different parts of Singapore that have landscapes which hold significant meanings to me and capture those memories and heritage in photographs. This is with regards to childhood memories and the landscapes which i grew up in and the photographs will mark the current changes to these places.

I also have to explore places of heritage value in Singapore. There're many areas and places in Singapore which hold historical value and meaning but very much neglected through modern-day Singapore society. I would love to explore these places to learn and to share with others as well.

I believe its not going to be easy to embark on a thorough, professional project but i'll prob start small within my own capacity. It'll be out of own interest that i pursue this and it'll prob not be a one-time project but a hobby which i'll continue through.

Recently a friend suddenly commented to me that I remind her of a typical gay friend’s best friend. It was meant to be a general reference but I didn’t ask her why she thought that way. Her remark sparked off reminders of the past when I had people commenting to me similar remarks but I sometimes wonder what was in me/ what I do that cause them to feel that way. I rmb in the past when I try to ‘correct’ myself by being very careful about how I speak, behave, react just so that I can conform to the ‘correct’ way that a guy should speak or act. But it soon became uncomfortable for me cause I cannot be who I am, having to fit into a particular image perceived by the world. But I thank God that He keeps me secure in who I am in Him and that has always been a reminder for me whenever someone makes similar comments. I would listen to constructive remarks and change but not to the extent of being who I am not. Through these years, I’ve become more comfortable and relaxed to behave who I am now and to allow people to know who I am instead of fitting into an image which I want them to perceive me as. That's why I wasn’t affected when my friend commented that on Sunday but it let off a string of thoughts and the reminder.

The holidays have officially started for me! I look forward to this holiday due to my involvement in RAG and Science camp as a OGL as well as my school attachment. Am excited over what God can work through me in all these events and what I would learn and contribute in these areas.
