was out having dinner at Fish&Co on Sat evening when i saw a notice to inform customers of the switching off of lights at its premises at Earth hour. It was then that I notice practical support for this movement and measures taken by corporate organizations. When I was on my way to Orchard Road, what surprises me was the extent to which support was given to Earth hour this time round. Many hotels and shopping centres had their external facade lights switched off and many eateries followed suit with their internal lights. Orchard Road seemed to have stopped operations for that full hour.

It is heartening to see the extent of support given and the awareness of this campaign. Indeed, efforts from WWF have not gone wasted and more people are taking notice and making practical steps to help conserve the environment. What I really hope for is that this hype over Earth hour would not die down soon and fade away as people continued with their standards of living. It is easy to follow suit in a one-hour effort but it is really the continued effort by all that will really make a difference to the conservation of this Earth...

Even as i share this, i'm guilty of leaving my room lights on for a few hours while i was away at patrick's room. May this be a reminder for myself and all that a little effort goes a long way...
