Lord,

keep my family in prayers...protect each one of us and let us stay united in Your love, love that is strong and unfailing...when things seem insurmountable, You reign over every single issue...let me surrender this family to you for You have the answers for the needs we have...may Your blessings overflow from our hearts and Lord, continue to show me how i can be used as the salt and light of this family, a family who will be committed to the will of God...

All these i ask in Jesus' name, Amen

this image is courtesy of joey...thanks joey for such a nice collage done!

today is the last day of school...and i thank God for a peaceful last day today..the kind of simple farewell which i've always hoped for...not the grand, big farewell kind...cause i've nv wanted this farewell to be a sad one and those emotional farewell will make me more unbearable to leave..i can't imagine how i wld feel if pple were to start crying...

i appreciate the many heartfelt thanks from everyone...those are more than enough and what i really wished for is that everyone can take care of themselves and hopefully do themselves proud in future endeavours...thats definitely not cliche but its my true hope for them...

will blog about my reflections and feelings by this wkend..have so much to say that i dun know what to say it...

35The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

read this verse from the 40days lovesingapore prayer journal yest...was deeply striked by what i gained from the entry...the importance of your spoken words, words which can actually bring abt undesirable effects...

sometimes you may be joking and careless words are spoken, but the hurt and damage could be done..it brought into mind the recent string of events which happened...is God telling me that its due to a careless use of words??

i'm reflecting upon that and i do admit it could be although the words could be spoken out of carelessness or with little thoughts of the repercussions...

and it brought me into aware of the seriousness and importance of speaking the truth, speaking words which can edify at all times...

Lord, remind me constantly of the words i speak...for by our speech we can turn harmony to chaos...with the same tongue, i do not allow undesirable words out of it but to allow blessings to flow out from it...

went for the moe induction prog today...was a little disturbed at the views of some scholars whom i felt protrayed a lack of the ministry for the poor...at least for those who voiced comments during the q&a segment, their focus were a lot on their experiences with the students from the so-called elite schs...and having being through project tripod last weekend and having exposure to students of lower academic bkgrds, i gained a heart for the poor..poor meaning not the financially-weak ones but those who are academically and spiritually weak...

i was greatly inspired by a talk from the principal of Northlight sch..for those who doesn't know, Northlight sch admits only students who have failed twice for their psle, and recently, for those who failed once...and i was inspired by the things the sch has done for the students, the visions they have and how the visions are translated into policies for the students...

it is this type of environment in which the students require teachers most, teachers who actually care for them and is willing to make a difference in their lives...and if there ever is a reason why i want to join this profession, it wld be to invest my life into these students, students who need teachers willing to make the turning points in their lives...

i guess there are many reasons why pple join the teaching career, some to make educational policies, others to be leaders in this field...well, for me, its simply to be able to see positive changes in my students, not only academically but also in their lives...eventually, what i'm really interested in is the changing of the lives of others...

i dun know whether this inspiring talk could be a calling for me to invest my life into these students, but i rmb samuel saying that this is the reason why he joins this profession and i do agree with him totally...since the sch only admits experienced teachers, i'll just get into mainstream schs start to gain the teaching experience...

if there ever is a day that God has called me to invest my life in them, i'll most willing to obey and trust in Him for this decision...

great testimony of God's grace and blessings...

within 10 days i've blessed 20 pple in the 100k campaign and there's more coming soon..i want to believe that i can be used to bless more pple around me and that God will indeed answer the needs of those who seek Him..may the pple whom i've blessed so far receive the blessings for the perspective areas of their lives...

i've left with one week one day in nan chiau...i'm at this very stage now that i'm leaving the place which have left many beautiful memories and at the same time, looking forward to the new phase of university life...but for the past few days, i can't help but whenever i meet the students, i'll begin to miss the relationships i've built up with them over the past few months...it may not seem long but there's definitely memorable times which i've spent tog with them...the effort and time i've put into the bonds i've shared with them...

i guess the feeling will really grow stronger next week...should i look forward to next wk??? well, i believe i should..because the future holds so much more...

a great testimony today..managed to bless 5 more pple in school...i believe they will be greatly blessed indeed...

mentioned yest that i wanted to update more abt what i did in camp...basically, this camp was quite different from the previous similar camps i attended..main difference being the fact that i'm co-facilitating my grp with 3 other facilitators, so i had the chance to learn more of the facilitation styles of the others, although that meant i hadn't a chance to develop and explore my own facilitation style.

it was very tiring on the second day though, having to bring the group to visit the bukit batok home for the aged to allow them to understand more about the old folks who are staying there..this is enable them to plan out an upcoming community service project..followed by amazing race which brought us to botanic gardens, city hall, suntec city and orchard...

was very inspired by the movie screened at night "pay it forward" about how the three kind deeds done by this boy had ripple effects in which the three people who received the blessings passed the blessings forward to three pple each...it showed once again how the efforts of one person, no matter how small, can bring abt a big change..at the end of the story, many pple were indeed blessed and brought upon a phenomena..do watch it if u have a chance...

i was quite touched always by how i should be encouraged to put in my best efforts into everything as my little efforts can result into greater impacts, only if i choose to believe...

just started reading this book a few days back and i was immediately captivated by the author of this book, benny hinn, a very anointed man of God...in his account of his experiences with God, i was greatly inspired by the faith he has and the relationship he shares with the Holy Spirit...and i desire to be lk him too, that many others will experience the greatness and wonders of the Holy Spirit through me...that the presence of the Holy Spirit will be so strong in me that others will feel the impact too...

so much so have this book inspired me that my Spirit is very much lifted up today..i wldn't have realized it until dan bro pointed it out to me...and i'm excited to continue to read this book, to be even more impacted by benny hinn's experiences...

I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep My laws. They will be My people, and I will be their God. [Ezekiel 11:19-20]

that what i've been asking for these few days...for a new spirit within me..dun know why i'm struggling with some thoughts these few days and i'm staying strong in the Lord to remove those thoughts and continue to trust in the Lord Almighty....

and i've been more uplifted since...the renewing process is taking place...and i pray that the process will be completed...

In bukit merah library now..attending the lders' mtg later..want to seek for God's renewal of His Spirit in my heart..thats my prayer request for tonight..have been facing very mixed feelings these few days..there were moments of excitement and disappointment that i can't conclude how my mood is lk for that day..and i seek to look back to God for the answer for He has prepared for me His plans for me..and His plans for me are always the best..this is the moment i need to trust Him for His plans, to believe and to obey..

went back cat high yest for its annual family day cum homecoming for old boys...went back there with xm to catch up with one another and to take a look at the sch again...

this art pieces were done by students in 05..rmbed them doing it when i was back at the family day 05..how time flies...its being 2 yrs since...

the statue of our sch's founder at the place where the old parade square used to be...we used to face the statue during our flag-rising but now they shifted the parade square...

i love this new rock-climbing wall..the current students are really fortunate to have this facilty..its quite a good featured wall in fact...the sch must have spent a lot in it...

this is the new hall which they built after i left...now there'll 2 smaller halls instead of the one big hall which we used to have...one for sec sch and the other for pri..but i lk the design of this new one..its actually fan-shaped instead of the regular rectangle ones...

this is the new improved sports complex which is improved with so much more facilties..the 6-lane track is still the same...what is great is the 2 tennis courts and the softball area..how i wished they had the tennis courts last time...but i'm surprised the sch actually have enough money to invest in these 2 courts now...

this is the main carnival area with all the stalls set up by the students...this is the new parade square where the flag-raising is...

this is the sec sch compound now...miss those times where i had my classes there as a sec sch kid...

there are many different themed corners now emphasizing on different ideas..lk this one is a chinese culture corner...

this is the school bookshop..its so different from usual bookshops in sch...its lk the normal air-conditioned bookstores u find outside...the operations is quite different from a usual sch bookstore...

a painting of the last supper on a wall...i was surprised to find this in cat high..the sch didn't have much religious-linked things in the past..but i guess i lk this painting here..

the sch bears which i bought..the one on the left is the pe attire bear which i bought yest and the uniform one is on the right which i bought 2 yrs ago...

me and xingmao...he used to be one of my closest friend back in cat high...so glad i managed to catch up with him yest after such a long time...

so much memories arised when we visited cat high yest...one of my dreams is to return to cat high one day to teach..hmmm, i really wls want to return to my alma mater to contribute my service there...haha...
