yest's david tao's concert was fabulous...it was really awesome..his powerful voice and pure talent...i really enjoyed his live performance last night...was totally soaked in the atmosphere...appreciate his songs even more now...and i realised this concert came exactly yr after i watched my previous one which was jay's...both on 26 nov..and i was telling my sis time really passed by quickly...it was lk this time last yr, i juz finished the last paper of my a level exams..

went to town for shopping oday...did managed to spot some pretty nice clothed which i'm planning to get soon...juz didn't have the mood to spend money today...spotteda bad too at far east..but there's still a lot of stuff which i'm still searching for...the main prob is that th nice stuff that i saw are way above my budget, lk the nike sneakers i saw at limited edtn...

looking forward to the movie family stones...why? because rachael mcadams stars in it...and talking abt mvies, there's this shop in esplanade which sells xclusive and imported movie merchandises....heaven for movie buffs...check out the posters cause those are really collector's items....

saw a few phamplets and advertisements earlier on, then a very crazy thought came into my mind...more lk an idealistic things that wun come true...if say after i ord and have the option of not working cause i have lotsa money (which is obviously not true), i can spend the time to attend diff courses t fulfill my interests and desires..various dance classes lk salsa, hip-hop, language classes ;l jap, french, music classes lk guitar and vocal singing, phonetics and articulation courses and even courses on etiquette and personal grooming...ok, for the last few courses, its not that i desparately needs help, just that it'll be beneficial for me if i can further developon these areas...frankly speaking, this wld only happen if i have all the time and money for all these...but in reality this wld not happen...so i'll prob settle for i or 2 of these courses to attend while waiting for admission to uni...and i'll prob be working...can't wait toattend such courses cause i gess it'll be fun...learning smthng which is really my area of interest..

read today's sunday times and there was this article right after u flipped over the cover page abt ns men posting restricted photos of their oversea trip on their blogd...and guess what? this qas the unit that i was attached to for my wallaby trip!...i was quite surprised nitially as i read on and found more evideces that confirmed that this was the sam trip that i went for...it mentioned abt the blogs of ns men having photos of themselves resting in armoured vehicles and one of them even mentioned abt an incident of an overturned tank...and this is what really happened! cause i even went to take a look at that veh in the morning...but luckily the crew were unharmed...actually i do have similar photos taken with vehicles but they are only the ext components and not the interior...and this is prob the only chance thatwe get to have photo taken with armoured veh...thats why we grabbed the opportunity...

even though i've come back for abt 2 weeks already, till now i still have flashbacks of the trip...in 1 way, u can say i kinda miss the trip...haha...its lk every now and then, a lot of things will make me recall the trip...although i dun wish to go through the training again, i really do value the opportunity of going overseas...there is supposed to be an india trip nxt yr, but i heard only the pso are going...now the only hope is taiwan..even if i wld going, it'll be different cause it'll be with the rest of the brigade and the experience will be diff...wallaby's experience is unique and irreplacable, so i shall be content for being able to have that...

talking abt things that remind of the trip, there are a few songs that bring back memories of wallaby...top on the list is craig david's 'dun love u no more'...me & jason just kept listening to that song on my mp3 and singing it whenever we're free...other songs include fish leong's 'silkroad' (including jason's own narration of its mtv), daniel powter's 'bad day' and that famous ozone song...and the 3 of us (inc mf) even attempted to imitate the dance moves....

somehow, the trip as sort of influenced my preference...i've started buying and drinking australian imported milk...this must be caused by the numerous packets of milk that i've bought form the canteen over the 3 weeks...despite the steep price, i willl faithfully buy a packet whenever we are there and i'll always be disapponted when the milk is sold out..haha...

anw, i do hope i'll get to visit the country again soon and this time as a tourist..

passd by junction 8 today and saw lotsa pple in sch uniform...felt quite weird before i realised it is the audition for campus superstar...thats explain the presence of uniform kids on sunday...decide to drop by and check out the open auditions..all the superstar-wannabes waiting for their 5-sec chance at fame...i wld say its an overwhelming response but majority of the can't make the mark...the gd ones are few and far in bet...i only managed to catch a few who managed to get the green light of approval from the judges to proceed to the next round...j8 has been abuzz with such activities these few months cause of various events organised there.lk autograph sessions or talent show auditions and it makes the entire place pretty crowded...

Sunday, November 13

yest went to orchard with py and sl for dinner...saw the xmas light-up..not bad, considering that it looks quite boring in daytime...i lk the green lights on the trees lining the streets...enhanced the effect of the gold and red lightings...took some snapshoots of the xmas lightings with our camera phones...the effect wasn't very gd, but its passable...nvm, we'll have a day where we'll have xmas photo-taking with proper digital cams....

anw, did some pre-xmas shopping at heeren...saw a damn nice nike sneakers at limited edt...it was lk the perfect pair of sneakers i've seen so far...it has everything that i've always wanted in a pair of sneakers...and it took me quite some time to manage to find this pair...but i guess i'll have to give this buy a miss cause it cost more than 200 bucks...its way beyond my budget and i guess its not worth spending so much on a pair of sneakers...but at least i did see a few stuff at esprit that are within my budget which i'm planning to get...

saw a new bar at the empty space juz outside heeren called 'the balcony'...they had this vintage-like seats outside which are lk one-of-its-kind in any f&b outlets in spore...very unique but i think i'll feel weird if i were to seat in one of the chairs...had some after-meal refreshments at billy bombers at heeren despite bad reviews from some friends...its my first visit there...the milkshakes were as nice as what py had described them to be lk...esp the chocolate one...very thick and creamy..had rootbeer float too...ages since i've last tried them ever since a&w left the f&b scene years ago...the cheesefries was not bad too..chunky fries dipped in warm, melted cheese...anw, think i'll make a second visit there to try out the rest of the menu and justify the reviews for myself...

kinda miss the australian community after lk one week since i came back...as compared to the hdb blocks here, the houses there are so spacious and unique in its designs...the air there is definitely fresher than in singapore, esp in rockhampton where its bounded by mountains and forests...australians are also much friendlier pple than singaporeans...even as i was walking down the streets, i was greeted by australians with a smile...something which i'll nv encounter in spore...but i guess i have to face the fact that i'm now in spore....

oh, b4 i forget, just have to clarify a mistake in my previous entry...jason told me he didn't visit the strip club in aussie...it was a wrong info given by mf...so paiseh for the little commotion that was created

went to catch the legend of zorro with mf at lido today...super bored, wanted to juz go out today...actually not that i have nothing to do...have lotsa magazines, books and dvds to catch up on, juz felt lk going out...haha...anw, found the movie worthwhile although i didn't watch the first installment...

catch up with mf on his r&r at wallaby...realised we both did a few common stuff there, lk buying the same kangaroo soft toy, tasted the violet crumble flavoured ice-cream (that was yummy), took the same photos of the same stuff...haha...pretty hilarious....anw, quite shocked to find out that jason and davin did visited the infamous strip club that was mentioned...discovered a few shocking facts abt davin from this trip..i now have a slight different impression of him...too bad i didn't get to go r&r with mf...if not, we wld have more fun taking more pic and visiting more places tog...sianz...anw, was busy passing mf my photos for printing...thanks for the trouble pal...and i'm going to upload my photos in the fotopic album that i've juz created...juz give me some time...and i wanted to change my blog layout yest...but didn't have the time...must find a day when i'm really free....

have to go back camp on thur...argh...save me from the agony....

Monday, November 7

the past few days i being busy but enjoyable...spent a lot of time catching up on the stuff that i've been missing out on for the past 3 weeks...being to orchard, marina, bugis area during those few days...went to satisfy some of the cravings that i had when i was in australia..stores are preparing for the christmas season, orchard road being decked out in christmas lightings...and the sch holidays have just started too...haha, and its time to buy new stuff too, although i didn't really see how much stuff that i lk over the past few days....

i'm having off till wed, almost a whole week since i've return before i need to go back to camp...and i think i'm really enjoying it so far...will continue to enjoy this own free time to do all the stuff that i've planned to do...

jel; 2:55 pm

i've finally got down to blogging my first entry after i returned...kind of have to adjust back to life here now since i've been gone for almost 3 weeks...but i haven been or seen much of australia since most of the time we're training and the only part of australia that we've seen is a small town in rockhampton...hope i can return to that country for a holiday soon, ya?

i wldn't say i had fun there although it was a valuable experience...having to do so much stuff within a short period of time....gets pretty tired during outfields cause u need a lot of concentration and alertness to drive during the day and night...and at moments, u can drive for hours...the distance covered can reach more than 30 km...and thats almost lk one end of singapore to the other...with the speed limit on the vehicle, it can pretty torturing at times...and the terrain there is so much different from area d...but we drove so much to a pt whereby it actually gets boring...haha...at least now i'm more confident at higher speeds and i could say that i'm more experienced...

logistics wise, its pretty screwed up...lots and lots of incidents..but there's almost nothing much we can do abt it...and i can say, patience is very very impt and always be prepared for the worst scenario, so at least we wun feel disappointed...working with reservists is a pretty much enjoyable affair...other than the more laid-back attitude they have, its interesting to chat with them regarding issues which matter to them, lk work and family..and the family i mean here is the family that they set up...and a lot of them have kids too...so u hear them discussing over child-handling and such...but i did have some unpleasant experiences with a few of them during atech...its all part of parcel of learning to work with pple of diff bkgrd and character...i wun take it into heart...

anw, i can of miss the times i had back then but i didn't want to go through the same stuff again...but the feeling of being in a diff country is quite gd...get to experience their climate, mingle with their residents...but 1 day or r&r just isn't enough..thats why i want to go back to australia soon...oh, and i really enjoy the sq plane flights, esp the kris world in-flight entertainment...really keep me fully occupied for the whole 6 yrs...watched lotsa recent movie, listen to albums, playing all kinds of games...applause for the presence of that...now, i wld't want to return to camp...after being away from it for abt a month, it feels sucky to go back to the duty routine that i'll be facing...at least, time seemed to pass a bit faster after i've being away, its nov now and i have less than 1 yr to ord...

Wednesday, November 2

i'm in australia now...staying in this beach resort hotel at yeppon...internet charges are expensive...but nvm since there's a surplus of coins with me now...anw, tmr i'm flying back to singapore...just had a full day of r&r today...really glad that everything is over already...had lotsa experiences to share with everyone but not today since i have a limited time period today....i wld say this is a valuable experience for me and i nv regretted coming for this exercise....

anw, been to lotsa places today...their cultural heritage centre, aboriginal centre...learned and see new stuff...went to stockland for shopping...given only 3 hours to shop but so far i've already spent a hundred plus just purely at the shopping mall...cld have spent more cause i've thought i might as well leave some money with in case i need to spend later but it turns out that i wun be able to spend more money cause its lk a ghost town here tonight and tmr i'll fly off early in the morning....spent quite a bit at the billabong/ripcurl shop...didn't buy any clothes cause its really more exp but i'm awed by the variety of designs they have there...but stuff lk slippers were cheaper...and i also bought quite a few accessories there...they really have some nice stuff over there...didn't manage to spot any gd bags ard...

i managed to grab some pretty nice food here....rocky road chocolate, vienna almonds and even more marshmellow chocolates....can't resist the temptation after i've tried the samples....there were some awesome delights at the cafe lk the wide variety of muffins lk the triple chocolate muffins which was really mouth-watering...too bad i didn't get to try them cause i was pretty much quite full by that time...

the programmes were quite packed as we had to squeeze so many stuff in 1 day but at least it was an eventful one...ok, i better finish this entry..not much time left...and it cause me 4 aussie bucks to type this entry...but nvm cause i'm really very bored now..and its 740 pm now in australia
